Animal Production and Reproduction (Experimental Farm)

Biotechnology is now a vital part of research and applications in animal production and medicine. In this laboratory, we research and develop technologies in the animal production, such as artificial insemination, embryo transfer, delivery care, and milking. Our studies focus on mechanisms of fertilization and embryonic development, and developing techniques for the nuclear transfer (creation of clone cattle) and micro-insemination in cattle. Our research will have applications animal production, fertilization treatment, and regenerative medicine.
We also study nutritional physiology in delivery and milking of dairy cows, and in cattle management.

Our Laboratory is located on the Experimental Farm of Utsunomiya University. We have 60 Holstein dairy cow and Japanese Black beef cattle to support our research.
